Introduction

Garage doors are widely used for the construction of cottages, garages and parking lots. There are a number of advantages of sectional doors: usability, reliability and safety, good sealing of opening and excellent thermal insulation.Sectional door leaf consists of several sections loosely joined with steel hinges. Moving over the track profiles the door leaf moves from the vertical (closed) position to the horizontal (open) position under the ceiling. Such a path of motion of the door leaf allows to keep the opening dimensions, save space both in front of the door and inside the garage.

Garage doors ensure safe operation for every family member. The doors comply with European Union directives regarding the product safety, as confirmed by test protocols. The protocols allow to mark doors with CE label.Use of energy efficient panels and sealing of the entire perimeter of the door ensure appropriate temperature inside the garage.

Maximum size of this type of doors is 6000 x 3000 mm. Leaf balancing is achieved by torsion springs located above the door leaf.When connecting two parts of a shaft, adjustable connecting coupler enables to turn them against each other providing an equal cable rope tension.Each torsion spring is fitted out by a special device (spring break device) which stops the door leaf in case of spring breakage preventing it from falling. Spring break devices are supplied without a price

surcharge.Intermediate hinges of special shape have high strength characteristics, providing reliable connection of doors panels. Moreover, these hinges are made of stainless steel and have high anti-corrosion features.The door construction includes adjustable roller brackets. The brackets allow to adjust the level of adjoining of sandwich panels to the opening, thus providing additional thermal and sound insulation of the door. Roller brackets are made of high anticorrosion materials (stainless steel and aluminum). These materials are not subject to corrosion, that ensures reliable operation of sectional doors throughout the life-time.Sectional doors are fitted out by polymeric rubber seals along their perimeter. Together with track profiles the seals provide reliable draft proofing of a passage.

EFFICIENT THERMAL INSULATION

The thermal transmittance coefficient for
ALUTECH doors is:

  • Trend Series (panel 40 mm)— 1,35 W/(m2 К)
  • Classic Series (panel 45 mm)— 1,06 W/(m2 К)

Thermal insulation U = 1.0 W/(m2 К) is comparable with a brick wall of 60 cm thickness.

DURABILITY AND RELIABLE PROTECTION

Panels with such a thickness are the basis of the doors’ durability, robust construction and resistance to wind and impact loads. The tests have showed that the ALUTECH Classic Series doors withstand a wind load of 700 Pa, that corresponds to wind speed of 120 km/h.

LONG OPERATIONAL LIFE

ALUTECH sandwich panels have a closed loop design where steel sheets are interfixed into a ‘lock’. Such a design protects panels against delamination in the sun and in the case of sudden closing of doors or similar damage, prolonging the operation of the door.

RESISTANCE TO CORROSION

Tests in independent laboratories proved that ALUTECH door leafs can withstand exposure to ‘salt fog’ for 750 hours which corresponds to 15 years of operation in coastal regions and polluted industrial areas. These unique anti-corrosion properties are possible due to:

  • thickness of zinc coating (16 micron);
  • double layer paint-and-lacquer coating (PUR-PA) 23–35 micron thick.
RELIABLE SEALING

ALUTECH doors are equipped around the perimeter with seals from modern polymer materials that tolerate temperature extremes. Flexible sealing inserts provide a reliable seal of the opening. The design of the roller brackets allows adjustment of the door leaf position in relation to the opening, which helps to avoid gaps and undesirable loss of heat between the door leaf and garage walls.

SAFETY

Design of ALUTECH sectional doors provides protection from:

  • Finger trapping
  • Uncontrolled movement of door leaf
  • Door leaf fall in case of spring break. Conformance to European standards EN 12604, EN 12453, EN 12424, EN 12425, EN 12426.
MAXIMUM SPRING ENDURANCE

Lifetime of ALUTECH springs on sectional doors is up to 25 000 open/ close cycles which corresponds to approximately 17 years of operation with 4 open/close cycles per day. Springs capable of 25 000 open/close cycles are offered as standard at no extra charge.
